Sorry to disappoint but we are sold out of tickets.

A DVD of the forum will become available. Like us on Facebook to keep updated.

Things are happening in Newcastle!

  1. The Newcastle Urban Renewal Strategy 2012 has been released.

  2. The West End Advisory Group is carrying out place-making activity.

  3. Proposals for trial cycleways on Hunter Street are underway.

  4. Work has started on the new Courthouse building.

  5. Nobbys Lighthouse is open to the public.

  6. And more cruise ships are stopping in our world-class port.

We're on the cusp of great things!

Newcastle NOW is hosting a city forum to identify actions to take the City forward right now.

You will learn the impact and opportunities of the City's Urban Renewal Strategy, and be inspired by world-renowned guest speaker Jan Gehl.

Jan is Professor of Urban Design and the inspiration behind public design in New York, Copenhagen, and Melbourne. He received a DOT's Commissioner's Award for exceptional contribution to New York City Streetscape and the Public Realm. His publications include Cities for People, Life Between Buildings, and New Urban Spaces.

Melbourne-based Gilbert Rochecouste will wow you with Placemaking.

Michelle Daley from the Heart Foundation will present Walking & Cycling For a Healthy City.

It's rare that speakers of this calibre are assembled on the same evening.

There's been a lot of attention directed towards the rail line, but whether it stays or goes, there’s things we can do now.  This forum will be an exploration of everything else that can be done to drive the city forward right now.

Noah's on the Beach, Monday 18 March from 5.30pm – 8.30pm. Tickets $45pp, includes canapes.
